CBNL shortlisted for Telecoms.com Award

CBNL has been shortlisted for the Pushing the Mobile Limits Award by Telecoms.com, after pioneering large scale point-to-multipoint (PMP) microwave converged networks.

The Award identifies solutions that have pushed the boundaries of network functionality, affording a glimpse of future mass market improvements.

The converged networks CBNL has deployed over the past year have enabled mobile backhaul and enterprise access services to be delivered over the same physical infrastructure.

This highly cost effective, virtualised, approach is an innovation compared to traditional networks where typically these services are run from independent networks.

Virtualisation revolutionises the cost structure of the network and supports the growing fixed-mobile convergence trend within the industry.

By intelligently managing data traffic, equipment costs are reduced and spectrum resources can be maximised.

The ability to deploy fixed services where spare capacity exists increases operator revenues, reduces churn and helps build a competitive advantage.

A number of Tier 1 service providers have already adopted CBNL’s revolutionary converged PMP solutions.

This is in complement to the company’s worldwide footprint which sees it serve operators across 43 countries, including seven of the world’s top ten largest operator groups.

Not only does CBNL’s carrier-grade PMP technology deliver up to 14.4Gbps of hub site data capacity for the most modern LTE networks, it creates up to 50 per cent total cost of ownership savings and has provided operators an unparalleled business case to launch profitable new services.

These benefits have enabled operators to expand coverage into new locations, significantly grow their subscribers and dramatically improve their revenues.

The awards will be taking place on the 4th December in London.
