Sunday Times Tech Track 100 2010 recognises CBNL’s continuing growth

20 September 2010

Mobile backhaul specialist named in UK’s top 100 technology companies.

Cambridge Broadband Networks announced today that it has made it onto the Tech Track 100 league table as the UK’s fastest growing wireless hardware company.

The Tech Track 100 is an independent league table that ranks the top-performing privately-held technology companies, based on sales growth over the last three years. Celebrating its 10th year, the Tech Track 100 list was announced in The Sunday Times, published on 19 September. Cambridge Broadband Networks, which won the award outright in 2004 and was represented again in 2009, continued to show the way to other hardware companies in the competition.

Graham Peel, CEO of Cambridge Broadband Networks commented,

“To be recognised for the second year running as the UK’s fastest growing wireless hardware company is testament to the robustness of our markets and the on-going demand for mobile broadband services. Mobile data traffic is expected to double every year for the next five years and our fast to deploy point-to-multipoint microwave backhaul solutions are helping more mobile operators than ever to meet that need.”

Cambridge Broadband Network’s microwave backhaul and access solutions use a point-to-multipoint architecture that delivers significant capital and operational efficiencies. VectaStar microwave equipment, operating in standard ETSI 10.5GHz, 26GHz and 28GHz frequency bands, has been deployed in markets around the world and in conjunction with a variety of radio access networks including those supplied by Ericsson, Huawei, Alcatel-Lucent and NSN.

The Tech Track league table is compiled by Fast Track and is published in The Sunday Times each September. Other top 100 companies included Justgiving.com and Orange Information Systems.
