CBNL is pleased to announce Julius Robson has been elected Chair of the Backhaul Group for the Small Cell Forum, a not-for-profit membership organisation that seeks to accelerate the adoption of small cell technologies worldwide.

Julius Robson, Wireless Technology Specialist at CBNL, was elected Backhaul Group Chair following a successful period as Vice Chair, for which he was recognised at the 2013 Small Cell Industry Awards.

As Chair, Julius will utilise his experience, including his work at CBNL in backhauling some of the world’s largest networks, to support the industry in this specialist sector and help unlock the huge potential small cell networks will bring.

Gordon Mansfield, Chair, Small Cell Forum, said,

“I’m delighted Julius has been elected Chair of the Small Cell Backhaul Group. The Forum has long recognised that supporting operators with specialist backhaul expertise will be key to accelerating the adoption of small cells and realising the many benefits they will bring.

"The contribution CBNL has made to the Forum over the past 12 months has been fundamental to the Backhaul Group’s success and I look forward to their continued support.”

Julius Robson, Wireless Technology Specialist, CBNL and Chair of the Small Cell Forum Backhaul Group, said,

“We’re excited to take on the role of Backhaul Group Chair and committed to shape the group’s outputs to support the industry with the intelligence and expertise required to deploy small cells.

“Over the past 12 months the Backhaul Group has demonstrated that the range of ‘last mile’ backhaul technologies currently available can together meet the varying requirements for the different small cell use cases, such that backhaul no longer constitutes a barrier to adoption.

"This is a big step forward and provides the foundation to move our focus to supporting operators in building a sound business case and planning end-to-end transport networks.

“We look forward to driving this next phase and building on the excellent work completed by BT as the previous Backhaul Group Chair”.
